After the post earlier linking to Ken's post about Darwin, I came across this graph reporting on those who accept evolution divided by religious affiliation. For some reason it doesn't surprise me that the three lowest groups are Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and Evangelical Christians.
The other thing that interested me is that no group went over 81%. I'm wondering what that tells us.
Nonetheless, I thought this was a very interesting graph. What are your thoughts?

I think it would depend a lot on how the question was phrased. For example: "Do you agree or disagree? Evolution is the best explanation for the origin of human life on earth." This might elicit a "disagree" response even from supporters of evolution because it seems to exclude divine purpose.
Hi, Chip. I don't think evolution and divine purpose are mutually exclusive.
Nick, nice to see you back. Here is another interesting chart along that same lines that breaks down belief in evolution by country. Sadly, the United States is near the bottom.
Did human beings, as we know them, develop from earlier species of animals?
Exactly my point, Cineaste. The words "best explanation" might be taken to preclude divine intention even for those who believe evolution was the process by which that intention was fulfilled. But since evolution has nothing to offer about the origins of life, it is not the "best" explanation for the origin of human life.
